I’ve openly admitted that I’m a coding moron. There’s a reason why I’m the guy who tests masternode set-up guides… because if I can do it, anyone can. As a result of my past frustrations with setting up masternodes, I often seek simple masternode hosting solutions such as The Hub from Kalkulus or the GinCoin platform.
Other players are quickly coming into this field, though, as the demand for masternode investing grows.
Apollon XAP is one such recent entry, which “envisions a future where anyone can easily purchase a masternode and participate in the blockchain rewards as simply as buying stocks online.”
Who is Apollon? What does Apollon do?
If you’ve ever heard of Bitcoin mining, that was version 1.0 of the way that blockchain distributes rewards. The future of cryptocurrency rewards are something called Masternodes, and that’s what we do, we host masternodes for dozens of different coins in the market.
Apollon was built to support the Proof of Stake and Masternode networks that are being built-out by hundreds of projects right now.
“In order to support a blockchain network, the underlying server infrastructure has to be maintained, this is where we fit in, we’re the rails that run the blockchain.”
We launched the Apollon NodeBuilder almost 6 weeks ago. Right now, our focus is making the platform the best it can possibly be. That means when someone launches a masternode, it should work, the first time, every time, and that’s not easily achieved with all the different coin forks that our team is dealing with.
Based on what we’ve learned in the past 6 weeks, we’ve already come to realize that we have to adjust the timeline that’s posted on our website. For example, we had hoped to have an updated Payment Structure that was based on assets held in wallets and locked in masternodes, however, with the technical hurdles we’re overcoming with every coin we post, we’ve realized that we have to push this goal back and perhaps adjust its outcome entirely as the web wallet technology we cite in that timeline will likely have to come first before we can achieve that.
That’s the trouble with these whitepapers is they explore these grand visions and try to lay out a perfect plan to get there, but the truth is, business never works that way. Basically, shit happens, and you have roll with the punches. The businesses that succeed aren’t the ones that can write a great white paper, they are the ones that can get an MVP into the market, start making money from it and then iterate from there. And where you arrive is ALWAYS different than from where you originally imagined. This is why business plans are updated quarterly, and they never remain static.
I can say this though, our mission to bring “Masternodes to the Masses” remains true, exactly how that will transpire, even we don’t know that, but we have some great ideas on how to get there quickly.
What is Apollon’s plan for adoption?
We’re in the top 10 of coins with the most masternodes in the market right now, and that gives the XAP coin market a great deal of support and long-term stability. The NodeBuilder software platform and it’s supporting back-end services is an off-chain software solution built from the ground up by our amazing tech team.
Our goal is to become the most trusted service provider to major Proof of Stake and Masternode projects, like Ethereum Casper. We’re preparing for when Ethereum Casper is released now. Apollon plans on being the most reliable, secure and safe hosting provider of Casper nodes in the world. We’re working on technologies like masternode fail-over redundancy, heartbeat monitoring services, etc. Major financial institutions that have large Ether holdings require these critical services to be in place if they are going to stake their Ethereum assets when Casper is released. We plan on being the leading provider of those high-end hosting services.
The initial target audience is the tech crowd that we find on Discord. These users are the innovators in the market. However, in order to grow, the next tier of the market, the early adopters, need to have a service brought to them that will allow them to get into masternodes and staking. 96% of our customers are male between the ages of 25-45, we do not see this changing in the near term. They are located throughout the world.
We seek to obtain as much business from this group by working with the twitter / YouTube / podcast influencers in the industry to get the word about Apollon’s services out there. Second to that is getting the coins onto the NodeBuilder platform as quickly as possible. Each coin has upwards of 2-3000 community members and we estimate that between 10~15% of those will not be cross-pollinated with other coins already on the platform, which means that we gain access to another 200 to 500 potential customers with each coin that we add to the platform.
In five years, Apollon will be the leading masternode hosting provider in the world.
How is Apollon taking advantage of current market conditions?
This is a great question; the current market conditions are harsh, this is war time. When it’s war you first have to recognize that its wartime and then you have to make war time decisions. And it’s not something a lot of people have the stomach to do. You have to cut staff, cut salaries, cut projects that people are working on and we’ve done all of that. We’ve reduced expenses, cut staff and are now solely focused on working only on improving the NodeBuilder software and adding coins to the platform. We have stopped all development on future big-ticket projects.
“War time always results in one thing, focus.”
That focus is on survival, and you will come out of that war a very different company that what you went into war with. One other thing is also true of coming out of war, if you survive, you’ll be a much stronger company with a team you can trust and rely on. I’ve learned over the years, that the people that are sitting at the table before the war are not the ones you trust, it’s the ones that are still at the table when the war is over that you can rely on.
Why invest in Apollon?
We would love for people interested in the masternode market to check out the Apollon NodeBuilder and use it to manage your masternodes. You’ll find that it’s easy to use, requires no technical knowledge and gets you up and running no time, and keeps you operating care free. You can buy coins and stake them to masternodes and never have to worry if your masternode is up and running, we take all the worry out of the process for you.
