Building The Exchange Matrix

This research has helped me to better differentiate the types of exchanges and exchange tokens. As an investor, and not a trader, I don’t use exchanges every day. That said, I do recognize the value of investing in Crypto Exchanges : they are an essential part of 4IR infrastructure and the capital growth opportunities are mega.

However, for my personal goals, I prefer investments that also allow token holders to share in the project’s success. For example, staking $AURA will soon earn holders a significant percentage of all fees generated by IDEX.

With my investment limitation in mind, I plan on diving further into Bibox and Aurora DAO (IDEX) for some in-depth DYOR. (I do understand that Coss also allows for success sharing, but the rep of the exchange seems badly hurt by poor trader sentiment. As such, I’ll focus-in on two strong plays in the sector).

Tokenomics By Exchange:

There were some significant shifts in TVEV ratios for Exchange Tokens over the last two weeks (8/17 to 8/30).

Right away, you’ll notice that the Waves DEX TVEV is totally whack. What’s up with Waves DEX? Well, there was huge drop in volume from when previously recorded. In all, the Waves DEX TVEV has been the most volatile of the nine exchanges tracked in this series.

Due to rising market cap, falling exchange volume, or a combination of both, Bancor, Binance, Huobi, and Waves lost in value (in terms of opportunity for capital appreciation). Conversely, falling market cap, rising exchange volume, or a combination of both show an INCREASE in capital growth opportunity for Bibox, Cobinhood, Coss, IDEX, and Kucoin.

The most significant increase in capital growth opportunity was found in Aurora DAO (IDEX), with the combination of increased volume and falling price leading to better value.
